TRIE - Transplantation Research Integration in Europe - is a Specific Support Action supported by the 6th EU-RTD Framework Programme and led by a European consortium of renowned scientists in the field of transplantation.
|
POSEIDON (Promoting Optimisation, Safety, Experience sharing and quality Implementation for Donation organisation and Networking in Unrelated Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation in Europe) is a 3 year project funded by the European Union, which will cover the area of Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. The eight partners within the project will collaborate to optimise the donation rates as well as the safety and quality of Haematopoietic Stem Cell transplantation.

AlloStem: An unprecedented immunology programme AlloStem is a cutting-edge blood and marrow transplantation research programme funded by the European Commission that will run for 42 months with the participation of leading immunologists and clinical scientists forming a consortium of 29-strong partners. AlloStem is an ambitious programme dedicated to improving cancer and leukaemia therapies and is being spearheaded by Professor Alejandro Madrigal, Scientific Director of The Anthony Nolan Trust in London, UK.

Demonstrating the applicability of novel indices of immunological tolerance to clinical practice using immunosuppression-free transplant recipients.
| |
|
Indices of Tolerance is a kidney transplantation project, now finished, which took place in various clinical centres throughout Europe and was coordinated by King's College London.
The study was trying to identify renal transplant patients who had stopped their immunosuppressive regimens, without then going on to reject their Kidneys. Once these patients were identified the study went on to try to identify those biological factors that lead to transplant tolerance, and apply this knowledge to future renal recipients, in the hope that they can reduce or even stop completely the long-term medication that they have to take.
This study was funded by the European Commission. For more information follow the link below > Click here
